The North Coast 500 is full of exciting experiences and wonderful sights, there’s almost too much to choose from! We thought we’d share our top North Coast 500 activities and attractions, so you can build an incredible itinerary for a 5 day adventure.
1. Keiss Castle
If you love a bit of history mixed with some stunning views, Keiss Castle is the place to be. The dramatic ruins are in a beautiful location, overlooking the North Sea. With free parking available only a short distance away from the ruins, it makes for a perfect scenic place to visit.
2. Achmelvich Beach
Achmelvich beach, on the west coast, is one of the best beaches in the Scottish highlands. It features gorgeous views, a great nearby golf course and it’s an excellent spot for fishing! Whether you want to relax on the sandy beach, catch some dinner or go for a round of golf, there’s something for everyone at Achmelvich Beach. Even better yet, our glamping site is right next door!

3. Dolphin Watching
Who doesn’t love the thought of seeing a dolphin up close in person? There are plenty of opportunities to see these majestic creatures along the North Coast 500. The popularity of this activity means there are plenty of boat trips available to spot some stunning Scottish dolphins.
4. The Shieldaig Lodge Whisky Experience
Scotland is rich in history when it comes to whisky. If you love a tipple, this whisky experience will be right up your street. At Shieldaig Lodge, you can create your very own whisky blend! With a selection of 12 whisky samples and a supply of specialist blending equipment, you get to put together your perfect whisky. You even get to name it and have it sent back home!
5. Corrieshalloch Gorge National Nature Reserve
Corrieshalloch Gorge is a spectacular place to visit. It’s perfect for families, couples or as a lone adventure. You get to experience the wonders of the 150ft high bridge you will have to cross (not the best choice for those with a fear of heights) and see the unbelievable views of the gorge below. Crashing waterfalls and interesting wildlife make for a wonderful day out.
