Sunset On Our First Summer
As summer 2019 comes to a close, we look back on our first season.
We’ve had a great summer! 350 ‘happy-glampers’ have stayed in our pods since we opened back in May. The feedback we’ve received since then has been exceptional, as you can see from our google review page below. We know that Achmelvich in the Summer is special, so knowing that we’ve helped so many people make their own Achmelvich memories makes it all worthwhile for us.
Our aim now is to offer guests just as great a time, as we move into autumn & winter. Thank goodness for underfloor heating!

Other Summer Highlights
We witnessed some incredible sunsets this summer. Many of you also submitted your own sunset pictures from all around the NC500 for the competition we ran recently. Congratulations to the winners, who scored free stays in our pods.
Boardwalk Beaut!
Another incredible fact about Achmelvich is that the sun sets right in the middle of the bay. The headland each side of the bay frames the sun perfectly as it dips below the horizon. People regularly congregate on the beach & dunes to take a few snaps or just take in nature’s splendour. Here is another sunset from this year to show you what we mean.

Party Time!
The support we’ve received during the last year, as we set up NC500Pods, has been incredible and helped us so much. Thanks everyone!

To show out gratitude and celebrate our opening (better late than never), we hosted a Hawaiian/Tiki-bar themed party. It was a gamble in the north-west Scottish highlands, but boy did it pay off! We welcomed friends & family in the baking Achmelvich sunshine, and also local business owners who’ve supported us.
Our barbeque had it’s first big workout, effortlessly feeding about 75 people throughout the day. We encourage anyone who stays in our pods to use it, it’s great!
NC500Pods Opening Party!
For anyone planning their own cocktail party, our advice is to stock up on Strawberries! Our Strawberry Daiquiris were the big hit of the day and were soon ‘sold out’ at the Tiki bar. The margaritas had mixed reviews. The tequila connoisseurs amongst us loved them. Others woke up the next day with hazy memories of a party!
