The question is: what can I do when visiting Achmelvich Beach for a day?
There are many things that you can do that will keep you busy and entertained. Let’s take a look at some of our favourite things to get up to when visiting Achmelvich Beach for a day.
Things To Do
There are many things available on the beach for you to get involved with. Here are some of our favourites:
Bring your wetsuit and take a dive into the sea. Achmelvich Beach is perfect for swimming. From the aquamarine, dreamy blue colour to the reflection that you see in the water, it is frequently filled with people enjoying the waves and having fun.
Most people living around the Achmelvich Beach area will tell you about how often people are swimming in the sea, but be warned: it can be cold!
You can also go fishing from the rocks into the sea. This is the preferable and most common way of fishing at Achmelvich Beach. Catch yourself something to cook for supper and go on a fishing adventure when visiting Achmelvich.
Wait, there is a golf course on the beach?
On the cliffs above Achmelvich Beach there is a 9-hole golf course overlooking the sea, and the best thing about it is that it’s free!
Enjoy a relaxing game of golf with the family whilst on your day trip to Achmelvich Beach, or have a game with the regulars whilst your family spend time on the beach. It is up to you what you want to do whilst here and you’re spoilt for choice if we do say so ourselves!
Nature in the Area
Aside from the things to do listed above, Achmelvich Beach is in a very special area. Being in the highlands region, it is home to some of the most beautiful nature in the entirety of the British Isles.
The mountains in the region are breathtaking. With most of them, you are able to walk along, with many local hills being famous for their large peaking cliffs and their heights. Lookup: Quinag, Ben More, Cul Mor or Stac Pollaidh and see if it ‘peaks’ your interest!
Aside from the mountains, there is also another beach. A secret beach, secluded from others. Vestey’s Beach is only two minutes away from Achmelvich and is blessed with nature and stunning views. Please note: you might need to do some swimming to get there!
