Our North Coast 500 pods are in Achmelvich in the north-west of Scotland. It’s a stunning place to be with its white sandy beach and gorgeous turquoise seawater just a 2-minute walk away from where the north coast 500 pods are located. The beach itself has won numerous awards, its a beach with some of the cleanest waters and the overall quality of the beach has won awards and that comes as no surprise for anyone with its incredible soft white sand. The beach is surrounded by the mountainous, rocky hills of the Assynt area that are perfect for anyone who loves taking a hike.
The local village Lochinver, which is very popular for fishing, is only 3 miles away and here you will find larger grocery stores, restaurants, petrol stations and shops to stock up with essentials, souvenirs and whatever else you may need on your North Coast 500 adventure.
Often at night, bonfires are arranged, of course, these are done responsibly and are managed for safety, where your friends and family can enjoy a lovely evening around a campfire, on or near the beach, and maybe have a drink or two.

Achmelvich is an excellent location for anyone who loves swimming in the sea, fishing, going on boat tours, hiking, photography or relaxing. With plenty of nearby well-known hills and hill walks you can do, you can experience the wonderful world of Scotland from high up with the magnificent views.

As a popular area for fishing, not only in the bay and at the beach but also at the nearby village Lochinver, it’s perfect for those looking for a relaxing and successful fishing holiday. Common catches in these areas include Cod, Haddock and Mackerel so if you love catching and eating fresh fish, you can’t get much fresher than just outside your doorstep.
Photography is popular in Achmelvich as the stunning scenic views can create magical photos. If wildlife photography is more for you there are perfect places for that too. Most of the surrounding areas are unspoiled natural habitats where animals can easily be seen roaming free and with a little patience, you could go home with some wonderful wildlife photos.
