Why is it Famous on the North Coast 500?

The North Coast 500 is a route situated in the North of Scotland. It is a route going five hundred miles across the highland region with landmarks, nature and settlements being located all along the route. 

Scotland in general is known for its scenery and the highland area is no different. It is in abundance of beauty, with the region being famous for its stunning beaches, mountains and cliffs. 

It is a well known part of the country, with many going on road trips along the route and experiencing the amazing atmosphere that Scotland has to offer. Travelling along the North Coast 500 is something that we should all do at least once in our lifetimes, yet many are still questioning why it is well known.

There are many reasons why the North Coast 500 is so well known, and in this article, we will discuss why many decide on the route as their favourite road-trip location.

The Beautiful Coastline/Scenery

As mentioned above, this area of the world is plentiful in nature, scenery and beautiful beaches that give it the reputation it has. From vast landscapes of mountains and hills, to the eye-candy of the Scottish beach, you have many different options of places to visit when along the North Coast 500.


One example of this beauty would be that located in Achmelvich Beach. With a stunning coastline and a view like no other, this beach is known for being easy on the eye, being a favourite of ours along the NC500.

The Attractions & Activities

Although the area is sparsely populated compared to the rest of the country, there are still many attractions and activities to participate in along the North Coast 500 route. Some of these involve golfing, fishing, swimming and even more that the whole family can get involved with.

A favourite among visitors of the North Coast 500 route would be the Brora Golf Club. This golfing course is located in the town of Brora,  and overlooks the stunning Brora Beach, giving the game of golf a whole new atmosphere.

The Accommodation
